Tim Monks

Tim Monks has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Tim started their career at IBM as a Test Engineer in 1985. Tim then worked as a Software Engineer at Ford Motor Company in 1990 and as a Research Scientist at Philips Research. In 1991, they joined the University of Southampton as a Research Assistant.

In 1995, Tim Monks founded Third Dimension and served as the CEO and Founder until 2011. During this time, they grew the company and eventually transitioned to the role of CTO, Chairman, and Founder. In 2015, they promoted Peter Marchbank to CEO and focused on developing the R&D department as the CTO.

Tim Monks also held the position of Non Executive Director at INSPHERE Ltd from 2018 onwards. In addition, they worked as a Consultant at Renishaw in 1995.

Recently, in December 2020, Tim Monks joined Third Dimension SaRL as the Director. Tim also served as the Non Executive Director at Third Dimension from November 2020. Additionally, they held the positions of Chairperson & CTO from January 2022 to May 2023, and CEO from October 2015 to November 2020.

Through their various roles and experiences, Tim Monks has gained a wealth of expertise and knowledge in different industries and has played key leadership roles in company growth and technological development.

Tim Monks completed their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Computer Science from the University of Southampton between the years 1986 and 1989. Following this, they pursued a PhD in Metrology from the same university, graduating in the years 1991 to 1994.
