Kevin Verzal

Vice President Therapy Development at Inspire Medical Systems

Kevin Verzal has a diverse work experience in the medical device industry. Kevin began their career at Boston Scientific CRM in 2005 as a Leads Design Engineer, where they contributed to new product development and design improvements. In 2008, they joined Envoy Medical as a Manager of Product Development Engineering, specializing in implantable hearing devices. During their time at Envoy Medical, they were responsible for various tasks, including design and development, finite element analysis, clinical support, and manufacturing support. Kevin's volunteer experience includes serving as Treasurer for ECHO Minnesota, where they prepared budgets and analyzed balance sheets for the non-profit organization. In 2014, they joined Inspire Medical Systems, initially as a Principal Mechanical Engineer and later as a Program Director and Sr. Program Director. In these roles, Kevin played a critical role in the development of an implantable Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) device, collaborating with suppliers and overseeing the product development process. Currently, Kevin holds the position of Vice President of Product Development at Inspire Medical Systems.

Kevin Verzal has a strong educational background in engineering and business. Kevin obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1999. Kevin then pursued further education, completing a Masters of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same university in 2005. During this time, they also enrolled in the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Finance in 2005.

In addition to their formal education, Kevin Verzal has also obtained two additional certifications. In 2007, they obtained a Six Sigma Green Belt certification from Boston Scientific, and in 2012, they earned the Professional Engineer designation from the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design.
