Christie Edwards

Christie Edwards is a dedicated educator with extensive experience in teaching science at various high school levels. Currently serving as a High School Science Teacher at North Carolina Virtual Academy since August 2022, Christie has demonstrated significant success in fostering student growth, particularly evidenced by students exceeding expectations on NC Biology EOC Exams. Previous roles include Science Teacher at Hickory High School, where Christie achieved remarkable growth rates despite pandemic challenges, and Biology Teacher at Anson High School, where students also excelled on state assessments. Beyond teaching, Christie has experience as a Science and Math Tutor with Inspired Learning Group, and prior positions in sales and office coordination, highlighting strong organizational and leadership skills. Christie holds a Master of Science in Sustainability Studies from Lenoir-Rhyne University and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from North Carolina State University, along with additional certifications in education.
