Catherine Wilks

Catherine Wilks has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Catherine is currently working at Slalom as a Senior Director, where they are responsible for building connections in the Manchester community and growing the Slalom brand. Prior to this role, Catherine worked as a Director and Data & Analytics Director at Slalom, leading engagements for clients to transform their data culture and strategy.

Catherine has also held Non Executive Director positions at Trafford Leisure and Inspiring healthy lifestyles. Catherine was responsible for providing strategic guidance and direction in these roles.

Before joining Slalom, Catherine worked at PwC where they held various roles. As the Chief Operating Officer for Data and Analytics in Assurance, Catherine implemented operational strategies, drove cost savings, and managed strategic projects. Catherine also worked as a Data Assurance Senior Manager and Manager, specializing in business intelligence and analytics projects for clients across various industries.

Earlier in their career, Catherine worked at Detica as a Senior Data Consultant and Data Consultant. Catherine worked with high profile clients on Business Intelligence and analytics solutions, including data modeling, report design, and data quality management.

Catherine Wilks has a strong educational background in physics and theoretical particle physics. Catherine obtained their PhD in Theoretical Particle Physics from the University of Liverpool, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. Prior to their PhD, Catherine completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Southampton. Catherine earned a First Class MPhys degree in Physics with Theoretical Physics from 2001 to 2005.

In addition to their academic achievements, Catherine has also acquired several certifications to enhance their professional skills. In December 2020, they obtained the Collibra Solution Architect certification from Collibra. In March 2020, they became a Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) through Scrum.org. Catherine also holds the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification, which they obtained in February 2020. Lastly, they achieved the Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner certification in October 2019, showcasing their expertise in cloud computing.
