Miia Onkalo

Miia Onkalo has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Miia started their career at Nokia as a Trainee and progressed to become a Senior Design Engineer, where they gained experience in globally distributed software development projects and agile practices. Miia later joined Accenture as a Senior Analyst, leading competence transfer programs and overseeing software maintenance teams. Miia then transitioned to Intel Corporation as a Software Engineering Manager and later as an SW Validation Architect, focusing on performance validation and user experience testing methods. Currently, they are working at Insta as the Vice President of Business Development, where they oversee strategy processes, business environment analysis, and technology roadmaps. Miia'smain focus areas include defense, intelligent industry, cyber security, AI, and autonomy. Miia also held the positions of Chief Technology Officer and Director of Process / Operational Development at Insta. Miia has a strong background in software development, operational and organizational development, and test strategy planning.

Miia Onkalo obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Electrical Engineering and Telecommunication from Tampere University of Technology from 1995 to 1999. In addition to their formal education, they also obtained additional certifications including becoming a Prosci® Certified Change Practitioner from Prosci in May 2020 and obtaining a SAFe® 4 Program Consultant certification from Scaled Agile, Inc. in October 2017.
