Florian Vidal is a Research Fellow at UiT- The Arctic University of Norway since January 2023, with research interests in mining policy, energy transition, resource frontiers, astropolitics, philosophy of technology, and post-Anthropocene theory. In addition, Florian holds positions as a Guest Researcher at the Fridtjof Nansen Institute and a Senior Fellow at Arctic Five, where involvement includes chairing the Working Group on Environmental History. Ongoing projects at Ifri focus on Russia/Eurasia and the China Digital Project, while contributions to the Earth System Governance Project emphasize energy governance amidst the Anthropocene. Previous teaching roles include a semester course on Arctic security at Ecole Spéciale Militaire de Saint-Cyr and lectures at the European School of Political and Social Sciences. Academic credentials encompass a PhD in International Relations and Political Science from Université Paris Cité, alongside diverse coursework at prestigious institutions like Sciences Po and the University of Oslo.
