Althéa Laurin-Oly

Altina Hoti, Ph.D., is a dedicated educator with a focus on Italian language and culture. Currently serving as a lecturer at The University of Texas at Austin, Altina aims to create immersive learning experiences that connect students with Italy's rich heritage. Previous experience includes roles as an assistant curriculum developer at CIEE, where Altina developed learning plans and evaluated teaching methods, and as a grant co-recipient at the National Endowment for the Humanities, where Altina translated and researched an 18th-century book on reproductive medicine. Altina's teaching journey at The University of Texas at Austin spans various positions, including instructor, teaching assistant, and international teaching assistant, contributing to curriculum development and enhancing student engagement in Italian language and cultural studies. Altina holds a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Italian Cultural Studies from The University of Texas at Austin, as well as a master's degree in the same field and a bachelor's degree in Economics and Banking from Università degli Studi di Siena.
