Dr Sharon Varney

Dr Sharon Varney has extensive work experience in the field of organizational development and leadership. Dr Sharon started their career as a Marketing Assistant at Thorn Lighting in 1987, followed by various roles in training and management development at British Gas from 1990 to 1994. Dr Sharon then worked as an Organizational Development Consultant at Thomson Holidays from 1994 to 1997.

In 1997, Dr Varney joined Northern Trust as the VP and Head of International Learning & Development, a position they held until 2003. Dr Sharon then worked at Acergy as the Group Learning & Communications Manager from 2003 to 2007. During this time, they also served as an Associate at Roffey Park Institute and a Principal Associate at the Institute for Employment Studies.

Since 2007, Dr Varney has been actively involved with space for learning ltd, where they serve as the Director, providing leadership development, OD development programs, and organization design workshops. In 2014, they also joined Henley Business School as the Co-Director and later became the Director of the Henley Forum, actively supporting organizations in making a difference through knowledge, learning, and change.

Overall, Dr Sharon Varney has a wealth of experience and expertise in OD, leadership development, and organizational change, making their a valuable asset in supporting organizations in addressing real-world challenges.

Dr Sharon Varney received their BA (Hons) in Business Studies with marketing from Sheffield Hallam University. Dr Sharon then pursued their MSc in Organizational Development at the University of Sussex. Later, they completed their DBA in Complexity and Change Leadership at Henley Business School.
