Hakeema Muhammad

Hakeema Muhammad is currently serving as a Community Engagement Specialist at the Institute for Market Transformation since November 2023. Hakeema is also a Law Student at Southern University Law Center, expected to graduate in 2025. Previous roles include Student Law Clerk for the Democratic Caucus at the Louisiana House of Representatives, a Trials Legal Academy Participant at AbbVie, and a Law Clerk at John McLindon Law, where legal research was conducted on a civil rights case. Hakeema's experience extends to positions such as Desk Clerk at the Louisiana House of Representatives, Client Advocate at Partners for Justice, Work Experience Counselor at The Youth Employment Partnership, Inc., Intern at Oakland City Hall, and Literacy Coach at Reading Partners. Hakeema holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from California State University - East Bay, with prior studies at the University of the Virgin Islands and Howard University.
