Geothermal Geologist at GNS Science

Isabelle Chambefort is an accomplished geologist with extensive experience in geothermal geology, currently serving as the Energy Future Theme Leader and leading multiple programs at GNS Science since September 2010. In addition to their role as MBIE Programme Leader for Geothermal: The Next Generation and Marsden Programme Leader for Superhot Fluids, Isabelle also contributes as an Associate Editor for the New Zealand Journal of Geology and Geophysics since May 2018. Previous positions include Research Fellow at CODES, University of Tasmania, and Research Associate at Oregon State University. Isabelle holds a PhD in Geology/Earth Science with a focus on ore deposits from the University of Geneva and has earned both an MSc and Bachelor's degree in Geology from University Blaise Pascal in France.
