Michele Daly

Michele Daly has over three decades of experience in disaster risk management, infrastructure resilience, and environmental sciences. Currently serving as the Society and Infrastructure Manager at GNS Science since July 2010, Michele leads multiple teams focusing on risk science and engineering, project governance, and strategic science direction. Previous roles include Disaster Risk Management Specialist and Head of Department for Risk & Society, where Michele spearheaded various critical projects in New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region. Before GNS Science, Michele held key leadership roles at Beca and Kestrel Group Ltd, as well as the Auckland Regional Council, contributing significantly to policy development, capacity building, and the establishment of emergency management strategies. Michele holds a Master of Science with Honors in Exploration Geophysics and a Diploma in Environmental Management from The University of Auckland.
