Michael Caine has extensive work experience in the field of intellectual property law and patent attorneys. Michael has held various leadership positions in professional organizations, including being the Vice President of FICPI - International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys since 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President, Study & Work Commission and Chair, International Patents Group (CET-3) of Study & Work Commission at FICPI.
In addition to their involvement with FICPI, Michael Caine has also contributed significantly to The Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys of Australia (IPTA). Michael served as the Immediate Past President, Council Member, President, and Vice President at IPTA. Michael also led several committees, such as the Patents Legislation Committee and International Patents Committee.
Before their involvement in professional organizations, Michael Caine worked as a Principal and Patent Attorney at Davies Collison Cave starting in 1996.
Michael Caine attended the University of Melbourne from 1984 to 1988, where they earned a BSc.(Hons) degree in Chemistry. Prior to that, from 1977 to 1982, they attended St Patrick's College in Ballarat, although it is unclear if they obtained a degree or field of study during that time.
