Ben Dergent

Ben Dergent serves as the CFO at the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp since January 2020. Previously, Ben held the position of Staff Member of the CFO and Head of Internal Audit at Thomas More from April 2010 to January 2020, and contributed as a Lecturer in Finance & Management at CVO EduKempen from September 2003 to January 2020. Experience includes roles as Head of Accounting and Department Head of Insurability at CM - Christelijke Mutualiteit from April 2005 to April 2010, Project Manager in Urban Development at Stad Turnhout from July 2004 to April 2005, and Commercial Advisor at BNP Paribas Fortis for a brief period in early 2004. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Economics from KU Leuven, a Master in Internal Auditing from Antwerp Management School, and a Certificate in Project Management from Kluwer. Ben also possesses a Kandidate in Economics from the University of Antwerp and completed secondary education with a focus on Latin-Mathematics.
