Ruth Mueller is a Professor at the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp since September 2018 and Head of the Department of Environmental Toxicology and Medical Entomology at Goethe-Universität Frankfurt a. Main since 2015. Research focuses on the interplay of epigenetics, phenotypic survival in polluted aquatic environments, and the ecology and ecotoxicology of mosquito disease vectors in the context of climate change and biological invasions. Previous experience includes postdoctoral research at the Biodiversity and Climate Research Center (2009-2014) studying the impact of pesticides on aquatic species and invasive mosquito species, and doctoral research at the University of Bremen and the Alfred Wegener Institute of Polar and Marine Research, examining the effects of temperature and UV radiation on marine macroalgae. Ruth Mueller holds a Diplom in Biology from Freie Universität Berlin (1998-2003).
