Patrícia Napoleão, PhD has extensive work experience in various roles related to clinical research and project management. Patrícia started their career as a Scientific Trainee at Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa, where they conducted laboratory work and contributed to multiple publications. Patrícia then worked as a Clinical Research Assistant at the University of Lisbon, where they monitored patient inclusion and managed clinical databases and biobanks.

After that, they joined A.J. Cunha Ferreira as a Scientific Translator before returning to the University of Lisbon as a PhD Student and Clinical Project Manager. In this role, they designed clinical studies and collaborated closely with medical teams to ensure the best sample design and data collection. Patrícia also worked on setting up collaborations with external healthcare institutions and was responsible for patient monitoring, laboratory work, and result dissemination.

Patrícia then joined Instituto Tecnológico e Nuclear as a Clinical Researcher and Clinical Project Manager. In this position, they liaised with key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals to set up and implement various clinical studies. Patrícia was involved in writing research plans, managing patient inclusion, data management, laboratory work, data analysis, and results dissemination.

Patrícia then joined Instituto de Medicina Molecular as a Clinical and Translational Researcher and Clinical Studies Manager. In this role, they designed and implemented research plans, managed clinical studies, and led a team of research assistants and master's students. Their work resulted in completed theses and grants.

Patrícia later moved on to Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciencia, where they worked as a Researcher and Project Manager. Patrícia coordinated a team, developed operational procedures to improve lab productivity, and ensured quality assurance and compliance with ethical guidelines.

Currently, they hold the position of Head of Mission Labs at Instituto de Medicina Molecular, where they are responsible for strategic planning and implementation of the Molecular Diagnostic Center restructuring. Patrícia has also served as the Head of the Molecular Diagnostic Center, overseeing operations and logistics for large-scale COVID-19 screenings.

Throughout their career, Patrícia has demonstrated strong leadership skills, project management abilities, and expertise in clinical research and data management. Patrícia has contributed to publications, secured grants, and implemented successful clinical studies.

Patrícia Napoleão, PhD earned a BSc in Biology Applied to Marine Animal Resources from the University of Lisbon between 1996 and 2002. Patrícia proceeded to complete their PhD in Biology, specializing in Physiology and Biochemistry, at the University of Lisbon from 2005 to 2009. In addition to their academic achievements, Patrícia Napoleão has obtained multiple certifications in data science and related fields from institutions such as Coursera and DataCamp.
