Luke Osborne

Luke Osborne has a diverse background in data science and machine learning. Luke currently serves as the Head of Data Science & Machine Learning at Instnt starting from May 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Socure from 2017 to 2023, where they held various roles including Sr. Director, Director, and Sr. Data Scientist. At Socure, Luke led and founded teams focused on ML platform development, data science tooling, and building infrastructure for efficient model deployment. Before joining Socure, Luke worked as a Data Scientist at Hudson Data from 2015 to 2017, where they provided data science consulting services to an insurance company and several start-ups. Luke's early work experience includes being a Graduate Researcher at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2010 to 2015, where they conducted research in physics applied to biology and authored several articles. Luke also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2008 to 2009.

Luke Osborne obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics with Honors, along with a Minor in Mathematics, from William & Mary between 2003 and 2008. Later, they pursued a Ph.D. in Physics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2008 to 2015.
