Makhala Hurst

Makhala Hurst has a strong background in education and professional learning. Makhala currently works as the Director of Professional Learning & Support at Instruction Partners since July 2022. Prior to that, they held several roles at YES Prep Public Schools, including Resident Principal from July 2021 to July 2022 and Manager of Coaching and Learning from August 2016 to July 2021. Makhala started their career as a Classroom Teacher at KIPP Texas Public Schools - Houston, where they worked from August 2013 to June 2016.

Makhala Hurst holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Southern California. Makhala furthered their education by pursuing a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from the University of Houston from 2018 to 2020.
