David W. has extensive work experience in the field of bioinformatics. David is currently working at Integrated DNA Technologies as a Principal Bioinformatics Scientist, a position they have held since May 2022. Prior to that, they worked at the same company as a Senior Staff Bioinformatics Scientist from January 2019 to May 2022.
Before joining Integrated DNA Technologies, David held various positions at Fluidigm Corporation. From January 2017 to January 2019, they served as a Senior Staff Bioinformatics Scientist, leading the development of multiplex PCR-based NGS panels and single-cell applications. Prior to that, from June 2010 to May 2017, they worked as a Staff Bioinformatics Scientist, designing and implementing DNA-Seq and RNA-Seq analysis pipelines, developing barcodes for NGS screening, and collaborating on single-cell mRNA-Seq data analysis.
David's earlier work experience includes a role as a Staff Bioinformatics Scientist at Life Technologies from July 2007 to June 2010, a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist at Ambion from January 2005 to December 2007, and a Research Associate at Washington University School of Medicine from October 2001 to December 2004. David also worked as a Research Associate at the Infectious Diseases Research Center, Laval University from March 1999 to January 2001, and as a Research Associate at the Institute of Microbiology & Epidemiology from September 1995 to March 1999.
Throughout their career, David has been involved in a wide range of bioinformatics projects, including the development of NGS panels, analysis pipelines, barcodes, and algorithms for various sequencing applications. David has contributed to scientific publications and has expertise in analyzing DNA and RNA sequences, as well as clinical data.
David W. earned a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Washington University in St. Louis from 2001 to 2004. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Microbiology and Molecular Biology from the Institute of Microbiology & Epidemiology between 1992 and 1995.
