Maria Cekanova, RNDr, PhD

Maria Cekanova, RNDr, PhD has worked in a variety of roles in the life sciences and biotechnology fields. Maria began their career in 1999 as an Assistant Professor at the University of Pavol Jozef Safarik in Kosice, Slovakia. In 2000, they joined the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in a variety of roles, including Research Assistant Professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Research Associate Professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the College of Veterinary Medicine, and Associate Research Scientist at the Graduate School of Medicine/Medical Center. In 2019, they became a Project Manager at bioPrime, LLC and a Scientific Consultant at NuShores Biosciences LLC. Most recently, in 2020, they were appointed Chief Scientific Officer at Integrity Laboratories.

Maria Cekanova, RNDr, PhD obtained their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Genetics from the University of Pavol Jozef Safarik in Kosice, Slovakia in 2005. Maria also earned their Doctor Rerum Naturalium, RNDr (Doctor of Natural Science) in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the same university in 2003. Maria Cekanova, RNDr, PhD completed their Master of Science - MS in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Pavol Jozef Safarik in Kosice, Slovakia in 1999.
