Matt Poirier is senior vice president of corporate development at Intel Corporation. Poirier and his team are responsible for advancing and accelerating Intel’s business through strategic corporate development, including all aspects of mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and integration activities for the company.
Prior to joining Intel, Poirier was senior vice president of strategy and corporate development at Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD), where he led the teams responsible for corporate strategy, AMD Ventures, as well as mergers and acquisition execution and integration. Before AMD’s acquisition of Xilinx, Poirier was senior vice president of corporate development and investor relations beginning in 2018. He also served as interim treasurer of Xilinx from 2019 to 2020.
Before Xilinx, Poirier spent nearly a decade in technology investment banking, covering the semiconductor industry at Morgan Stanley and BofA Merrill Lynch. While at Morgan Stanley, Poirier led the semiconductor team in North America, as well as co-led the firm’s automotive technology practice. Before his career in investment banking, Poirier spent more than six years serving as an officer in the U.S. Navy.
Poirier earned a Bachelor of Science from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, and a Master of Business Administration from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles.
