Paulo Belo

Paulo Belo has a diverse range of experience in the IT industry. Paulo began their career at JCDecaux, where they worked as a Computer Systems Designer and Analyst for eight years. In this role, they were responsible for installing, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and software, as well as managing the core network infrastructure. Additionally, they developed and supported key business applications and served as the database administrator for critical business databases.

Following their time at JCDecaux, Paulo worked at GFI Portugal as an Oracle DBA. Here, they supported Oracle operations for Portugal Telecom, administering multiple databases and implementing high availability solutions. Paulo also played a significant role in designing, upgrading, and migrating systems, as well as monitoring large databases for Portugal Telecom.

Afterwards, Paulo joined SIBS, forward payment solutions, where they worked as a SWIFT Specialist and System Administrator for eight years. In this position, they played a crucial role in designing the SWIFT infrastructure, implementing monitoring solutions, and ensuring high availability. Paulo led the integration of SWIFT with various solutions for major Portuguese banks and assisted in designing recovery and contingency exercises for data center recovery operations.

Most recently, Paulo joined IntellectEU as a SWIFT Support Engineer. In this role, they lead SWIFT projects and is responsible for installing, upgrading, migrating, and integrating SWIFT applications with back-office systems. Paulo also troubleshoots and diagnoses errors and plays a key role in defining SWIFT architecture and integrating contingency solutions. Additionally, they provide training and mentorship to junior employees.

Paulo Belo has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Universidade Independente. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications including SNC - SWIFTNet Connectivity and SNM - SWIFTNet Messaging from SWIFT, IBM Certified System Administrator - AIX 7 (C9010-022) from IBM, and Oracle Database 10g Administrator Certified Professional from Oracle. Paulo also holds a certification in SWIFT Connectivity & Interface skill.
