Dave Scott

Dave Scott has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Dave started their career as a Coworker at IKEA, where they worked from 2001 to 2006. In 2006, they joined Constructor UK as a Field Engineer, primarily focusing on building, commissioning, modifying, repairing, and maintaining large industrial rotating machinery. During this time, they gained experience in PC, traditional PLC, soft PLC, relay control, motion control, safety-critical systems, and energy recovery.

In 2007, Dave took on a role as an Automation Engineer, Electrical/Control at ConstructorUK Ltd. Here, they were responsible for selecting the correct parts for each task and keeping up with the fast-paced developments in automation technology. Dave also had to stay updated with changing regulations and standards.

In the same year, Dave also joined Tornado Storage Solutions Ltd as a Technical Director. Their main responsibilities involved integrating PC/PLC/Soft PLC controlled industrial material handling machinery with PC-based software to ensure maximum logistical efficiency within warehouse environments. Dave developed machinery and software to stay ahead of the competition.

In 2009, Dave joined MacTaggart Scott as an Electrical Engineer / Controls Engineer. Here, they focused on the design, implementation, and commissioning of control systems for large hydraulic equipment, with a strong emphasis on safety, redundancy, cost, and meeting standards for harsh military environments.

Dave Scott attended Edinburgh Napier University from 2003 to 2008, where they earned a 2:1 degree in Electronic & Computer Engineering. Additionally, Dave obtained an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) certification from IMechE and IET in 2012.
