Naila Baig-Ansari has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Naila has worked as the Director of Research at IRD Global since 2023. Prior to that, they held the roles of Chair of Research and Epidemiologist at The Indus Hospital from 2011 to 2022. Naila also worked as a Research Consultant at the International Commission of Jurists in 2011 and as a Statistical Consultant at the International Treatment Preparedness Coalition in the same year. Naila served as an Epidemiologist and Research Supervisor at Aga Khan University from 2007 to 2009 and collaborated with Relief and Information Systems for Earthquakes Pakistan (RISEPAK) in a statistical role in 2008. Before that, Naila worked as a National Consultant at the UK Department for International Development (DFID) in 2006. Naila was a Fogarty Fellow at UC Davis from 2003 to 2006 and a Fogarty Research Fellow at Aga Khan University from 2001 to 2003. Naila began their professional journey as a Corporate Planning Officer at Pakistan International Airlines from 1990 to 1999.
Naila Baig-Ansari holds a PhD in Epidemiology with a Designated Emphasis in International Nutrition from the University of California, Davis, which they obtained from 2003 to 2010. Prior to that, they completed a Master's degree in Epidemiology from Aga Khan University from 1999 to 2001. Naila also has a BBA in Management from William & Mary, which they earned from 1987 to 1989. Before their undergraduate studies, Naila Baig-Ansari obtained a High School Diploma from Karachi American School in 1980, and they attended the American School in London for middle school from 1978 to 1980. Naila Baig-Ansari's earliest known education was at the American Community School in Amman, where they studied before their middle school years.
