Joao began their career as an English and Portuguese teacher at Universidade do Minho, where they taught and organized various activities. Joao then worked as a Comenius Teaching Assistant in Denmark, teaching English to high school students and managing cultural events. Joao also worked as an English teacher at Excellent - Dokonalost v Jazyce spol. S.R.O., teaching business English to employees of CEZ, a Czech energy company.
