Liren Chen

Liren Chen joined InterDigital as President and Chief Executive Officer in April 2021. Prior to joining InterDigital, Mr. Chen served as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Intellectual Property, Legal Counsel at Qualcomm.

With more than 25 years of experience in the technology industry, Mr. Chen has led technology, product management, IP strategy, and global ecosystem development for Qualcomm Technology Licensing. He also oversaw Qualcomm’s worldwide IP portfolio. Mr. Chen is an expert in global IP strategy, and holds 28 granted patents in the U.S. and more than 120 granted patents worldwide.

Mr. Chen earned a bachelor’s degree in Automation from Tsinghua University, Beijing, a Masters’ of Science from the University of Maine, an M.B.A. from San Diego State University, a J.D. degree from the University of San Diego, and has completed Harvard University’s IP and Business Strategy program. He is a licensed member of the California Bar.
