Martin Lavoie

Martin Lavoie is a distinguished public health professional currently serving as the Chief Medical Health Officer at Interior Health Authority since September 2022 and as the Deputy Provincial Health Officer for the Government of British Columbia since July 2020. Their extensive experience includes leadership roles at Fraser Health Authority, where Martin held various titles including VP, Population Health & Chief Medical Health Officer, and at Alberta Health, serving as Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Health. Martin has also contributed significantly to public health in previous positions at Alberta Health and Wellness, Alberta Health Services, and within the Direction de la Santé Publique in Quebec. Martin Lavoie holds a Medical Doctor degree with a specialty in Community Medicine from Université de Montréal and has a background in science from Ahuntsic College.
