Johannes Cassiman has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Johannes started their career as an intern in intellectual property at Allen & Overy in 2013. Later, they worked as an IP/IT Lawyer (Counsel) at Janson Baugniet Law Firm and also taught law courses as a Tutor at Legima. In 2015, they became a Teacher for Privacy and Drone Airlaw at Noordzee Drones opleidingscentrum, where they stayed until 2019. In 2018, they joined Interlaw Ltd. as the Chair of Interlaw NextGen EMEA, responsible for bringing together future leaders and high potentials of Interlaw member firms. Recently, in 2022, Johannes became the Founder of GRIT.LAW. Additionally, they volunteered as a Neighbor Mediator at Stad Gent from 2010 to 2013, helping to resolve conflicts between neighbors.
Johannes Cassiman earned a Bachelor's degree in Law from Ghent University in 2011. Johannes then pursued a Master's degree in Law from Ghent University, which they completed in 2013. In the same year, they participated in the LLM program in Intellectual Property Law and IT Law at KU Leuven. Additionally, in 2012, they spent a year as a visiting student/Erasmus at the University of Montpellier, studying International Law and Legal Studies. In 2020, Johannes attended Harvard University, completing the CS50L course (Computer Science for Lawyers - edx distance learning). Prior to their university studies, they obtained a middelbare school diploma from Don Bosco college Zwijnaarde in 2008. Furthermore, in 2015, Johannes obtained the "BUBA" (bekwaamheidsattest tot het uitoefenen beroep van advocaat - Certificate of competency Flemish bar association) from the Orde van Vlaamse Balies.
