Simon Maltais

Simon Maltais is a highly experienced cardiac surgery professional with a diverse background in academia and clinical settings. Currently serving as the Medical Director of Cardiac Surgery at Intermountain Healthcare since April 2022, Simon has previously held significant roles, including Medical Director at HCA Healthcare and Associate Professor at Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Montreal (CHUM). Simon's extensive expertise is further enhanced by leadership positions within various esteemed organizations, such as Chair of the Cardiac Surgery Robotic Symposium for the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplant, and Vice-Chair and Chair of the Mechanical Circulatory Support Council at Mayo Clinic School of Medicine. With a strong educational background that includes a PhD in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Université de Montréal and multiple fellowships, Simon Maltais is recognized for contributions to cardiac surgery and related fields.
