Vanessa Carrillo

Vanessa Carrillo is a Research Associate at the International Alliance for Responsible Drinking (IARD) since September 2020, having previously served as a Research Intern. Additionally, Vanessa has been a Karate Instructor at Pandas Karate since April 2012, where responsibilities include teaching martial arts and assisting in administrative tasks. As a Private Tutor since March 2014, Vanessa provides individualized educational support. At the University of Maryland, Vanessa completed an undergraduate thesis focused on health disparities in Latino communities and actively participated in various health and civic engagement initiatives, including serving as Vice President of Public Health Action Through Civic Engagement and a member of the Smoke-Free College Task Force. Vanessa's experience also includes being a Teaching Assistant, a Health Intern at CHI Health Care, and contributing to sustainability efforts within the Maryland Marching Band. Vanessa holds a degree from the University of Maryland, completed in 2020.
