Doug Stern

Doug Stern has extensive experience in communications, public relations, and operations within the firefighting and labor sectors. Since June 2017, Doug has held multiple leadership roles at the International Association of Fire Fighters, including Director of Operations and Director of Strategic Campaigns, focusing on media relations and crisis management for 3,400 affiliates. Prior to this, Doug served as Director of Communications and Public Relations for the Ohio Association of Professional Fire Fighters, where a communications platform was established for a 12,000-member union. Doug's earlier career includes firefighting with the Cincinnati Fire Department, where problem-solving in high-pressure environments was essential, and a role as Local Marketing Manager at Safeway Safety Step LLC. Doug holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications/Public Relations from Xavier University.
