Anita Jorgensen is the owner of Anita Jorgensen Lighting Design, with experience spanning from June 1996 to the present. In addition to managing their own company, Jorgensen serves as a guest lecturer at Parsons School of Design and the School of Visual Arts, and has lectured at New York University, specializing in museum lighting design. A professional member of the Illuminating Engineering Society and the International Association of Lighting Designers since 2000, Jorgensen was also a part-time faculty member at Parsons from 2008 to 2012. Upcoming contributions include a guest speaking engagement at the Designers Lighting Forum of New York in March 2024. Jorgensen's educational background includes an MFA in Lighting Design from New York University, a BA/BFA in Art History and Fine Arts from Hunter College, and training from The Juilliard School's Professional Apprentice Program. Prior professional roles include assistant lighting designer at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and project manager at Fisher Marantz Stone.
