Sylvie Van Driessche has a diverse work experience in international organizations and government agencies. Sylvie began their career in 1994 as a Deputy Advisor at the Commissariat Général aux Réfugiés et aux Apatrides, where they served until 1997. From 1997 to 2001, they worked as an Expert assigned to the Centre Democracy and Rights & UNESCO Chair on Human Rights and Democracy at APEFE. In 2001, Sylvie joined the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, where they held various roles over the course of ten years, including Programme Manager and Administrative Officer. Sylvie then transitioned to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in 2017, taking on the role of Head of TPRD Division. In 2021, they were promoted to Head of Publishing Division at the ICJ.
Sylvie Van Driessche has a strong educational background in various fields. In 1987, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in International Relations at the Université libre de Bruxelles, completing their studies in 1991. During this time, they developed a comprehensive understanding of the subject.
Afterward, Sylvie attended the Geneva Graduate Institute from 1991 to 1993, where they obtained a Diplôme d'Etudes Supérieures in International Law. This specialized program allowed their to deepen their knowledge in this specific field.
In 2008, Sylvie decided to further enhance their skills and expertise by enrolling at the Ichec Brussels Management School. Sylvie pursued a Diplôme d'Etudes Spécialisées in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General and successfully completed the program in 2010. This degree equipped their with a comprehensive understanding of human resources practices and management strategies.
Throughout their education, Sylvie Van Driessche demonstrated a commitment to gaining a well-rounded academic foundation and expanding their knowledge in key areas.
