Peter Schwarz is the President Elect of the International Diabetes Federation since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Professor for Prevention and Care of Diabetes at Technische Universität Dresden starting from 2009. Peter also worked as a post doc at the University of Chicago - Howard Hughes Medical Institute from 1999 to 2000.
Peter Schwarz has a diverse education history. Peter attended Medizinische Fakultät Carl Gustav Carus der Technischen Universität Dresden from 1991 to 1998, where they earned their degree in Medizin. After that, they pursued further studies at the University of Chicago - Howard Hughes Medical Institute from 1999 to 2000, obtaining a post-doc degree in Molecular Genetics. In 2001, they returned to Medizinische Fakultät Carl Gustav Carus der Technischen Universität Dresden and completed their Habilitation, PhD, in Internat Medicine, a program that lasted until 2008. Later on, from 2013 to 2015, Peter attended two different schools simultaneously, EADA Business School and HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management, where they achieved a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in International Business.
