Yuriy Pakhotin is a seasoned data scientist and engineer with extensive experience in big data and machine learning, currently serving as a Senior Big Data Engineer and ML Scientist at General Motors since January 2017. Pakhotin has played a pivotal role in advancing GM’s vision for a future with zero crashes, emissions, and congestion while providing expertise and training in data science to fellow engineers. Pakhotin is also the founder of BVData, dedicated to empowering the Brazos Valley through analytics, and serves as an Analytics Expert with the International Institute for Analytics. Previous positions include mentoring at Quake Capital Partners, research at Texas A&M University, and team management at CERN, where Pakhotin contributed significantly to the Higgs boson discovery. Educational qualifications include a Master of Liberal Arts in Data Science from Harvard University and a PhD in Experimental Particle and Nuclear Physics from the University of Florida.
