Monica Chicas

Monica Chicas has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Monica started their career as an English language teacher at Colegio Nacional Americano from 1994 to 2002. After that, they joined the Superintendencia de Administración Tributaria where they held various roles, including Professional in Human Resources, Training and Organizational Development Supervisor, and Department Manager for Development and Knowledge Management. Monica worked there from 2003 to 2012. Following this, they joined Novartis as an HR Analyst and later as a Learning and OD Lead/HRBP from 2013 to 2020. Currently, Monica Chicas is working at the International Justice Mission as a People Experience & Development Sr. Lead, starting from December 2020.

Monica Chicas obtained a Master's degree in Human Resources from Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala from 2001 to 2003. Monica then pursued another Master's degree in Corporate Communication and Strategic Planning at Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca from 2008 to 2009. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's degree in Social Communication at Universidad Rafael Landívar from 1994 to 2001. Monica also obtained certification in Multidimensional Coaching from the International Coaching Federation in 2017. In addition, they completed a pre-master Business English program at Swansea University in 2012 and a specialized program on the design, development, and implementation of e-learning courses at CDAC in Noida, India in 2011.
