Octavio Aburto-Oropeza

Octavio Aburto-Oropeza serves as a Full Professor at Scripps Institution of Oceanography since July 2017 and has been an Explorer for National Geographic and a Conservation Photographer for the International League of Conservation Photographers since 2009. Octavio previously conducted research at Scripps Institution of Oceanography from July 2011 to June 2013 and held a professorship at Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur from 1995 to 2003. Octavio earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology from Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur between 1990 and 1994.
