Alondra Nelson

Alondra Nelson currently serves as the Harold F. Linder Professor at the Institute for Advanced Study since July 2019 and holds the position of Distinguished Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress starting March 2023. Nelson is a board member for The Brotherhood Sister Sol and the Innocence Project, and also serves on the board of directors for Mozilla. Additionally, Nelson is a member of the Scientific Panel on Global Standards for AI Audits at the International Panel on the Information Environment and holds a position on the High-Level Advisory Board on Artificial Intelligence for the United Nations. Nelson is a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a Fellow of the AAAS, and a Member of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences. Educational qualifications include a PhD and an MPhil in American Studies from New York University, along with a magna cum laude Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of California.
