Damiano Spina Valenti

Damiano Spina Valenti is a prominent researcher and academic currently serving as the RMIT Research Lead at the Australian Internet Observatory since June 2024 and a Scientist at the International Panel on the Information Environment since May 2023. With extensive experience as a Senior Lecturer and former Postdoctoral Research Fellow at RMIT University, Damiano has been involved in significant research initiatives related to automated decision-making. Damiano's career includes roles as an Associate Investigator at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society, a Data Scientist at Signal AI, and research experience at UNED as a PhD student and researcher. Educated at UNED, Damiano holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science and a Master in Language Technologies on the Web, building a solid foundation in computer science and language technology expertise.
