Mohammad Faiz Alam is a researcher specializing in water resources and agricultural water management at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) since September 2016, focusing on enhancing water and food security amid climate change. Alam has served as a Specialist Group Member for Groundwater Resource Management with the International Water Association, promoting sustainable urban groundwater practices from January 2019 to March 2024. As a co-founder of SaveIt!, Alam developed an innovative water-saving device and participated in the EIT-funded incubator, The Greenhouse. Previous roles include leading online discussions for the 8th World Water Forum, conducting research on groundwater extraction at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, and interning at the Global Water Partnership. Alam holds a PhD in Hydrology and Water Resources Science from Delft University of Technology, a Master's in Environmental Engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
