Johnny Lasker has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Johnny started their career as a Web Content Manager at Marketgateway.net in 1999 and went on to work as a Software Engineer at Alva Learning Systems, where they designed dynamic database-driven web applications for clients such as NASA and Visa.
In 2005, Johnny became a Senior Developer at RichFX, where they developed object-oriented data driven web applications for online retailers like Disney Travel Company and JC Penney. Johnny then joined Directmessagelab as a Flash Developer, where they developed dynamic flash-based web applications for clients including BBDO and Clinique.
Johnny later worked as a Flash/Flex Developer at Tag Worldwide, building additional functionality for internal applications and creating a banner ad reporting tool. Johnny then joined Bonnier Corporation as an Interactive Developer/Producer at Skiing Magazine, where they developed an immersive online experience and produced content for the website.
In 2013, Johnny joined EDUCAUSE as a Senior Manager of IT Services, where they matured service management and oversaw the launch of modern systems. Currently, they are working at Internet2 as a Principal Service Integration Engineer.
Throughout their career, Johnny has acquired, managed, and developed freelance projects as the Owner of Lasker Media, LLC. Johnny has worked with various clients, including Car & Driver, Fortune Magazine, and Sports Illustrated, to develop innovative websites, multimedia, and content management systems.
Johnny Lasker obtained a BA in English - Creative Writing with a minor in Italian from the University of Colorado Boulder, where they studied from 1994 to 1998. In 1997, they also attended the Lorenzo de' Medici School for a brief duration. Additionally, they hold certifications such as the Certified Scrum@Scale Practitioner from Scrum@s, the Management Program 2019 from EDUCAUSE, and the ITIL® Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management from AXELOS Global Best Practice, which were obtained in 2019 and 2018 respectively.
