Kris West

Kris West has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. They began their career as a Technical Author at Toshiba Information Systems in 2002. They then worked as a Visiting Researcher at the International Music Information Retrieval Systems Evaluation Laboratory (IMIRSEL) in 2005, where they implemented various algorithms related to Music Information Retrieval. In the same year, they interned at Sun Microsystems on the 'Search Inside the Music' project, conducting research and implementing music recommendation and classification technologies.

From 2006 to 2010, Kris held roles such as Research Scientist at the University of East Anglia - IMREC/FindTunes and Director and Project Lead at Widget Works Ltd., a small consulting company. At Widget Works, they handled contracts with universities, as well as consulting and software development projects for US-based startups.

In 2006, Kris joined OneLlama Media Inc. as a Senior Program Manager, where they were responsible for managing programs and projects. They then served as VP of Engineering at URFilez, a music streaming and personalized radio application, from 2010 to 2012. In this role, Kris oversaw all technical teams and managed various responsibilities, including project management, app design, infrastructure oversight, and client handling.

From 2012 to 2018, Kris was the Chief Cat Herder at added + intelligence (ThirdWindow LLP), where they played a leadership role in coordinating teams and ensuring smooth operations. In 2014, they became the CTO at RINGR, Inc., a company focusing on long-distance recording and same-room sound. At RINGR, Kris contributed to helping radio broadcasters and bloggers enhance the quality of their interviews, calls, and collaborations.

In 2018, Kris joined ChartIQ as a Senior Solutions Architect, collaborating with fintech developers to deliver multi-window, multi-monitor desktop applications. Currently, Kris is serving as the Principal Engineer at interop.io, where they provide technical leadership and contribute their experience of working with clients to drive product development.

Kris West obtained a PhD in Computer Science - Machine listening from the University of East Anglia, where they studied from 2004 to 2008. Prior to that, Kris West earned a BSc in Computer Science and Systems from the same university, attending from 2000 to 2003. There is no information available regarding their education at Tiffins.
