Tom Santek

Tom Santek has a diverse work experience starting in 2010 when they worked as a Freelancer for tomsantek.com, where they designed, developed, and launched responsive websites and web applications. Tom also had experience in project management, front-end and back-end programming, UI/UX design, and maintenance. Tom was proficient in programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, SQL, and had experience with WordPress, Bootstrap, Semantic US, and Third-party APIs. Tom also had knowledge of React.js, jQuery, Git, Selenium, Mocha, and Jenkins.

In 2013, Tom worked as a Junior Consultant on a project in the Ministry of Justice at Omega Software. Tom then moved on to work as a Senior Project Assistant at WYG International from 2010 to 2012.

From 2014 to 2016, Tom worked at the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) as an Ebay Trading Assistant and IT Technician. In this role, they diagnosed computer problems, monitored computer processing systems, installed software, and performed tests on computer equipment. Tom also maintained websites and built internal software for tracking eBay posts and sales.

In 2017, Tom joined Best Buy and held multiple roles. Tom started as a Project Team Specialist and then moved on to become a Deployment Functionality Technician, responsible for the implementation and functionality of low voltage portions of deployment projects. Later, they joined the Geek Squad as a Home Theater Agent, where they were responsible for installation and calibration of audio/visual and networking equipment. Tom provided clients with a premium in-home experience, conducted diagnostic discoveries, and made recommendations for protecting and defending client devices. Tom also managed inventory and provided feedback and training to store teams.

From 2019 to 2021, Tom worked as a Software Engineer at STChealth, where they designed, developed, and tested STC applications for public and private health. Tom also mentored developers across multiple projects and teams and worked with React and Node.

Currently, Tom is a Senior Software Engineer at Intersection Co., starting in 2021.

Tom Santek has a diverse educational background in the field of technology. In 2019, they completed a Software Engineering Immersive bootcamp at Galvanize Inc, specializing in Computer Software Engineering. Prior to that, from 2007 to 2012, they pursued a degree in Information Technology at the University Of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica, earning a Professional baccalaureus/baccalaurea engineer degree with a focus on Computer Systems Maintenance. In 2012, Tom attended the Cisco Networking Academy to enhance their knowledge of Cisco Certified Network Associate. Tom also obtained a certification as an Adobe Web Site Designer from Algebra University College in 2010. Before their higher education, Tom completed their secondary education at Electro technical high school Velika Gorica from 2002 to 2006. Furthermore, they completed their primary education at Primary school Jurja Habdelića, Velika Gorica from 1994 to 2002. Additionally, Tom has obtained certifications in AWS Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2022 and Adobe Web designer from Algebra in 2009.
