Sam Crews

Sam Crews is an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in the development and management of medical devices. Currently serving as the Director of Single Port Design Engineering and Managing Principal at Intuitive since November 2011, Sam has held various leadership roles, including Director of Engineering at Barosense, where innovative surgical tools for obesity treatment were developed within an ISO 13485 certified system. Previous positions include R&D Program Manager at Ensure Medical, Inc., Engineering Manager at Angiotech Biomaterials and Ventrica, and Sr. Equipment Engineer at Heartport. Sam's educational credentials include a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in History from Stanford University.
