Martin Koch

Martin Koch has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Martin started their career as an Applications Engineer at SAMES, where they managed projects, collaborated with customers on ASIC specification, conducted silicone testing and verification, and created product datasheets.

Afterwards, Martin joined ALTECH NETSTAR as a Hardware and RF Design Engineer, where they worked on designing transmitters, receivers, oscillators, analog and SOC components, and antennas. Martin also held the role of Groupleader, overseeing the hardware group's adherence to deadlines and providing strategic product design input.

Martin then joined SABERTEK as an Engineering Manager, where they managed departments, projects, and designs to achieve customer excellence and budget adherence. Martin also handled client relationships and budget planning.

Following that, Martin served as the General Manager of Engineering at Booyco Electronics, where they managed departmental projects, handled budget planning and management, and reported to the Chief Operations Officer.

Most recently, Martin worked at Invenco, starting as a Senior Project Manager, where they led a cross-functional team in achieving project delivery within the EMV payments industry. Martin collaborated with project sponsors, product managers, and external customers to evolve customer and market requirements into product requirements. Martin also successfully implemented the Stage&Gate methodology for project management.

At Invenco, Martin then served as a Product Delivery Manager, focusing on managing Joint Venture Development projects and assisting the Chief Engineer in defining and documenting product design and development architecture.

Afterwards, Martin became a Technical Operations Manager at Invenco, solving complex technical and operating problems, conducting macro-project planning and project management, and acting as a technical expert within Operations.

Currently, Martin holds the role of Director of Manufacturing Operations at Invenco, where they lead and motivates Operations and Manufacturing teams to deliver products on time and in full to customer demand. Martin implements smart management strategies based on data analysis and serves as a technical expert in Operations, with a focus on Procurement/Service/Manufacturing engineering.

Martin Koch completed their B.Ing degree in Electronic Engineering at the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria from 1997 to 2001. Following this, they attended Richards Bay High School from 1992 to 1996, where they obtained their Matric degree. In 2010 to 2012, Martin pursued their M.Sc degree in Management of Technology and Innovation at the DaVinci Institute. Additionally, they obtained certifications in Leadership Development Programme from Knowledge DNA in June 2016 and in Intrinsic Safety - Manufacture and Repair from MASC in July 2016.
