Laura Franz has over 10 years of experience in research and operations management. Laura began their career in 2010 as a Research Intern at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they gained experience in expression, purification, and crystallization of Xcp proteins in the type II secretion system from Pseudomonas aeruginosa. In 2011, they joined Lucigen Corp. as an R&D Scientist, where they focused on cloning, expression, purification, and crystallization of functionally active G-Protein Coupled Receptors (GPCRs). In 2014, they moved to R&D Systems as an Operations Manager, where they obtained 80-100% pure active protein products with consistently low endotoxin levels (1-0). In 2022, they joined Invenra as a Senior Scientist I.
Laura Franz obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology/Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls between 2003 and 2007. Laura then went on to earn their Master of Science (M.S.) in Bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison between 2008 and 2010. In 2013 and 2014, they attended Madison Area Technical College and obtained their Associate of Science (AS) in Medical Laboratory Technician. Additionally, they obtained their Medical Laboratory Technician certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) in July 2014, and their ISO 9001:2008 3 Day Internal Auditor with Medical Device Focus (ISO 13485) Training from AQS Management Systems, Inc. in March 2012.
