Carlos Sagra

Carlos Sagra has over 20 years of work experience in the financial industry. Carlos is currently working as the Head of Risk Management at Invest AD - Abu Dhabi Investment Company, where they serve as the de facto Chief Risk Officer, Chief Information Security Officer, and Executive Committee member. In this role, they have launched new asset managers, expanded the Treasury and arbitrage business, and taken on risk officer and board responsibilities.

Prior to their current position, Carlos worked as a Partner at Liwa Analytics starting in 2022. Carlos also served as a Risk Manager at Ashmore from 2011 to 2016, where they managed risk-related activities.

Carlos has also held various roles at HSBC, including Risk Analyst and Structured Derivatives Product Control, where they handled market risk analytics, valuation, and oversight for the derivatives portfolio. Carlos has also worked at UBS, Morgan Stanley, and Bank of America Merrill Lynch in financial analyst and analyst positions.

Their early work experience includes roles as a Finance Assistant at Gardner Merchant Inc and a Market Researcher at Total Research Network.

Throughout their career, Carlos has gained extensive experience in risk management, asset management, and financial analysis.

Carlos Sagra has a diverse education history. Carlos completed the General Management Program at Harvard Business School from 2020 to 2021. Prior to that, they obtained an MSc in Financial Economics from Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd from 2001 to 2002. Carlos also holds a BSc. (hons) degree in Economics and Accounting with French from the University of Bristol, which they completed from 1998 to 2001. In addition to their academic qualifications, Carlos has obtained certifications in Technology Entrepreneurship, Cybersecurity, and Ethical Hacking.
