Lourens Campher

Lourens Campher has extensive experience in the finance industry, with a focus on structured finance and business development. Lourens is currently employed as the Head of Asset Finance at Investec, where they are responsible for financing income producing assets for private companies in South Africa. Prior to their current role, they held various positions at Investec Bank, including Head of Specialised Growth Finance, Head of Aviation Finance, Head of Coverage, and Structured Finance Consultant. Before joining Investec, Lourens worked at Credit Agricole as a Representative for their structured finance division in South Africa. Their responsibilities included debt financing, syndications, securitization, and project finance. Lourens also spent several years at Absa Capital, where they served as the Head of Business Initiation and a Consultant, focusing on structured finance solutions for corporates and business development in the TMT and Resources sectors. Earlier in their career, Lourens worked as a Consultant at Standard Merchant Bank and KPMG. Overall, they bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the finance industry to their current role.

Lourens Campher completed their Matric degree at Affies from 1973 to 1977, focusing on English, Afrikaans, Science, Mathematics, Accounting, and Economics. Lourens then attended the Public Accountants and Auditors Board from 1988 to 1991, pursuing a degree in CA (SA) with a specialization in Accounting, Tax, Auditing, and Management Accounting. In 1996 to 1997, they attended RAU, earning an H Dip (Tax) degree with a focus on Taxation.
