Wim Verreydt

Wim Verreydt is an experienced software engineer with expertise in various technologies and industries. Wim started their career in 2013 as an Open-source Software Engineer at anova r&d bvba, where they also served as an Intern. In the same year, they worked as an Open Source Consultant at Vts Politie Nederland, focusing on inter-region emergency collaboration system development using JBoss Fuse and other technologies.

In 2014, Verreydt became a Comitter at The Apache Software Foundation, contributing to open-source projects. Wim also served as a JBoss Fuse Consultant at Red Hat for a brief period in 2013.

Verreydt joined JAVA bvba in 2014 as a Servicemix and Mobile App Consultant, a role they held until 2019. During this time, they gained expertise in various technologies and platforms.

In 2019, Verreydt took on the role of Senior Scala Developer at Centrica Business Solutions Belgium, where they were part of the North American solar and storage team. Wim'sresponsibilities included optimizing the combination of solar energy and batteries for demand response.

Verreydt also worked as a Scala Software Engineer at KBC Securities in 2019, contributing their skills to the development of Scala-based software solutions.

Currently, Verreydt is working at InvestSuite, where they serve as a Scala Developer, Tech Lead, and Analyst.

Wim Verreydt obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Software Engineering from Katholieke Hogeschool Leuven from 2010 to 2013. Prior to that, they studied Computer Science at KU Leuven from 2006 to 2010. In addition to their formal education, Wim Verreydt has also earned certifications in Scala-reactiveX: Programming Reactive Systems from edX in April 2019 and in Functional Program Design in Scala from Coursera in June 2018.
