Jason Barnes has extensive experience in the field of animation, spanning various roles and companies. Jason is currently working as the Animation Director at inXile entertainment since May 2019. Prior to this, Jason worked at Rockstar Games for 8 years, starting in May 2011 as the Assistant Mocap Director and progressing to the role of Senior Animator. At Rockstar Games, they were responsible for animating cinematic sequences and integrating them into the game, managing a team of animators, and collaborating with multiple departments to streamline workflow.
Before their time at Rockstar Games, Jason also worked as the Head Coach and Program Developer for Parkour at San Diego UNITED Training Center from November 2010 to July 2012. Jason also gained experience as a Character Animator at Papaya Studio and Hi Road Productions, and as a 2D Animator at Sony Computer Entertainment America, Maya CG Animation, and Marvimation.
Additionally, Jason has worked as a Traditional Skills Tutor at Maya CG Animation, where they taught various animation techniques. Jason has also interned as a Character Animator at DoubleTake Media Solutions.
Throughout their career, Jason has demonstrated their expertise in animating cinematic sequences, cleaning up Mocap data, directing shoots in Mocap studios, and creating motion capture rigs. Jason has also showcased their ability to collaborate with directors, producers, and actors to achieve the desired motion data. Jason is known for their attention to detail and their ability to provide constructive feedback to ensure animation quality.
