Stephen Sassman

Analytical Development and Validation Scientist at Ion Labs, Inc.

Stephen Sassman has over 25 years of experience in the field of analytical chemistry. From 1995 to 2000, they were a Chemistry professor at Texas State University. From 2000 to 2014, they were a Senior Analytical Chemist at Purdue University, where they developed and implemented methods for measuring the concentration of legacy and emerging contaminants in complex matrices. Stephen also designed and implemented a novel passive sampling device for evaluating contaminant fate and transport in streams and rivers. From 2014 to 2018, they worked as an Analytical Development Scientist and Method Validation Chemist IV at Sovereign Pharmaceuticals, where they were responsible for analytical method development and remediation, method validation and transfer for raw materials and finished product, and investigation of non-conforming test results. Since 2018, they have been an Analytical Development and Validation Scientist at Ion Labs, Inc.

Stephen Sassman attended Purdue University from 2009 to 2014, where they obtained a Ph.D. in Agronomy. Prior to that, they attended Texas State University from 1997 to 1999, where they earned an MS in Chemistry.
